About the Authors

Khalidah Khalid Ali
Dr Khalidah Khalid Ali is a retired senior lecturer at the Department of Management and Humanities, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Bandar Seri Iskandar, Perak D. R., Malaysia and currently a freelance consultant, trainer and keen writer. She also lectures on part-time basis to UTP undergraduate students on Ethics and Integrity, while involving in research and publication works. She has 17 years of industrial experience at PETRONAS Group of Companies, i.e., in general administration, human resource management and downstream retail sales prior to joining academia, and served for 25 years as an academician.
Khalidah holds a bachelor's degree in Analytical Economics with honours from the University of Malaya (1979), a Master of Science in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management from the University of London (London School of Economics and Political Science, 1983) and Ph.D. in Social Science and Humanities from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (2019). As an academic, she has taught Malaysian Studies, Principles of Economics, Malaysian Economy, Business Management, Introduction to Management, Human Resource Management, Entrepreneurship, and Ethics and Social Responsibility at UTP and the Open University Malaysia.
Her research interests encompass interdisciplinary social science, cultural studies, and value-based studies related to ethics in diverse and competitive global environments. Her Ph.D. thesis, titled ‘A Discourse on Consciousness of Ethics Among the Malays in Malaysia: 1970 to 2000’, delves into the evolution of ethical consciousness within the Malay community.
Khalidah has provided research and consultancy services in business organisation, marketing and ethics and has been a trainer in the related areas. Additionally, she contributed to the development of the Malaysian business ethics module, Etika Perniagaan Malaysia (EPM), aimed at enhancing ethical practices among small and micro-businesses in Malaysia. She has also been a journal paper reviewer in management, economics and ethics disciplines. Khalidah is the lead author of textbooks “Business Management - A Malaysian Perspective” 1e (2008) to 5e (2025), Business Ethics 1e (2014) and 2e (2018), published by Oxford Fajar Publishing for Malaysian and ASEAN higher learning institutions. She is affiliated with several professional organisations, including the Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM), PETRONAS Alumni, UTP Alumni, Kolej Tunku Kurshiah Old Girls’ Association (TKCOGA) and ResearchGate. Zulkufly Ramly
Dr. Zulkufly Ramly is an Associate Professor at the Department of Finance, Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). With nearly 30 years of combined experience in banking and academia, his expertise spans corporate governance, financial management, banking, risk management, business ethics and personal financial planning. He began his career in the Malaysian banking sector, gaining eight years of practical experience in personal financial service, credit administration and recovery in a global bank. He later held academic appointments at the University of Malaya and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman before joining IIUM in 2013. At IIUM, he has served as Deputy Dean (Postgraduate and Responsible Research), Head of the MBA Programme, and Academic Advisor. He also co-advises the KENMS Integrity Project.
Dr. Zul is a Shariah Registered Financial Planner (ShRFP) with the Malaysian Financial Planning Council. He holds a PhD in Accounting from IIUM, an MA in Corporate Strategy and Governance from the University of Nottingham, and a BSc in Business Administration (Finance) from the University of Denver, Colorado. 
His current research focuses on corporate governance, climate risk, green finance and financial literacy. He has published widely in international refereed journals and co-authored two textbooks — Business Ethics (1st & 2nd eds.) and Corporate Finance — both published by Oxford University Press.
Lau Teck Chai
Dr. Lau Teck Chai is a Senior Associate Professor at the Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Hub, Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU), China. He obtained his BSc in Business Administration (Decision Science and Financial Management) from the University of Montana, USA, MBA (Strategic Management) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and Doctor of Business Administration (Marketing) from Southern Cross University, Australia. Currently, he supports XJTLU Syntegrative Education where he teaches modules in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Futurology and Business Opportunities, Research Methods for Entrepreneurs and Business Model Generation. His works has been published in international journals such as Renewable Energy, Journal of Cleaner Production, Current Psychology, Asia Pacific Journal of Education and British Food Journal.
